About me
Hi, I’m Sina. I’m a Toronto-based musician, music producer, songwriter, instrumentalist, music educator, and song composer.
I’ve released numerous songs as a solo artist, created personal music projects, and collaborated with musicians across a variety of genres. My background spans a wide range of styles—from electronic and alternative music to film scoring, classical, jazz, and ensemble-based compositions. I'm an active composer and producer, and over the years I’ve had the chance to work closely with artists, bands, and filmmakers to bring unique musical visions to life.
But when I look back, here’s where the irony comes in—my journey in learning music started way back when I was four years old. It was completely involuntary, really—it was a decision my parents made. I was enrolled in an introduction to music class where I first encountered solfege, ear training, and learned to recognize the major scale. We sang, played the bells, and laid the foundation.
One year later, I picked up the recorder flute and began to understand how melodies work. At six, I started piano lessons. But over the years, I changed teachers more times than I can count—maybe even more times than some teachers have had students. I constantly lost interest. I didn’t like to practice. Everyone said I was talented, but for me, practicing felt like torture. My mind would fly off to a thousand places, and I couldn’t focus.
Everything changed around the age of 15. I met a teacher who actually listened to what I wanted to explore in music. He wasn’t stuck in outdated teaching methods. With him, I dove into jazz, improvisation, and rock songs—and ironically, this newfound freedom reignited my interest in music. It wasn't until I attended university and studied music academically that classical music truly clicked with me. The structured learning environment, coupled with a renewed passion for music, inspired me to revisit my old habits, practice repertoire with renewed dedication, and explore the deeper layers of classical music.
Today, I’m a full-time music educator with a passion for helping others find their own path—without getting boxed into old-school rules. I aim to create a learning experience that’s engaging, flexible, and inspiring, just like the one that finally worked for me.
